This unique and rare type of wood is highly sought after for saunas, siding and soffits, feature walls and trim. There is very little to no defects or knots in clear grades. In our region the cedar trees generate minimal volumes of mixed edge and flat type grains. In the Coastal forests, the volume is still limited however, vertical grain (VG) and edge grains are a lot more common. With extravagance comes higher cost, but a clear cedar project is timeless and often priceless!

Is a premium one face, two edge product also known as “good one side” (G1S). You can be assured of its superior finish, appearance and structural integrity. Lakeside Plus is an excellent value choice for projects that will only be seen from one side. It is also practical for further remanufacturing or ripping as the main defect is wane and or other defects on the reverse face.

For economy uses. Some boards or portions of boards may not be useful and are not graded for structural integrity. This may also refer to wood withheld from higher grades due to weathering, staining, gouging, warping or cupping. This grade is very popular for planter boxes and garden beds.
